Hi
Please can you help/advise?
After lots of book and article reading, web and forum searching, I have patently failed to get a definitive answer to this question:
When 'home printing' (currently with an Epson 3000) Is there an output difference between using:
- A saved 16 bit PSD, either a layered or flattened, file and
- A full sized maximum quality, with no further processing, JPEG file, albeit that the inherent nature of the JPEG file will is 8 bit.
I think I vaguely understand that this printer should give a wider colour space than sRGB?, say Adobe RGB, but not sure about ProPhoto RGB? - and is this relevant?
And that any 'home printer' will print to 8 bit.
Is there a relationship between the embedded colour space in a file and the print output?
(As we know, for example, Lightroom operates by default with the ProPhoto colour space, and if the PSD is printed from Lightroom it will also be flattened as LR does not 'do' layers).
Sorry if the query is a little wordy (it is my first post!) - but hope it makes some sense?
Thanks for any help/confirmation.
