Copper

This is a copper coffee pot from the Georgian period early 1800's. My grandmother brought it to Canada about 40 years ago along with many other English antiques. Somehow I ended up with it and have long wanted to photograph it. I especially like the details of how it was made and plan on doing some close-ups, more so than posted here, in the future. These were taken in the dinning room with natural light.

I dropped a small flashlight down into the pot for this shot. Wanted it to look like something was trying to get out .

Such a beautiful set, Dave. You make photographing curved metal look easy, though I know it's just the opposite. Great idea to light it from the inside!

Nice shots. What ever you do, don't polish that pot any more than it already has been. It'll ruin the patina.

Thanks Alan. It has never been polished since I've had it for the last 25 years or so. I dusted it off for these images but thats about it. The patina is what makes the piece.

Alan, I used my 18-140mm Nikon kit lens and tripod. I manual focused using live view zoomed in.
