Thanks Dan, it was a perfect day although a little hot in the middle of the day.

Good series Graham. Looks every bit as attractive as you describe it. One Day.... (The shadows might benefit from a lift in no.3 but............).

Good, but I'm wondering about cropping the foreground from the last one and going square? I suspect that would put more emphasis on the figure against that expanse of sky.

It is a possibility Geoff. I cropped it as it is because I wanted to give a feeling for the height of the hill even though all that tree foliage does detract a bit.

Nice pics, Graham, we swam with the dolphins, up in the Bay of Islands, 35 years ago. We are not as brave now, though I think we would cope. The "sky" image is nice. Down in the South Island (where we are this month), I am tempted to photograph the sky every hour - amazing combinations, and some so delicate and vibrant. No pollution and perhaps the lack of ozone protection.

Presuming that you proceed to the South Island, put your white balance setting onto cloudy, even in strong sunlight. This is a tip from Jackie Ranken, one of our well-known photographers who lives and operates from Queenstown.

Went to the south island first Jim. Started out at Dunedin - Te Anau - Milford - Te Anau/Queenstown - Frans Josef etc. Fabulous country.
I will keep in mind that tip if ever I'm back over that way however. Thanks.
