Considering that I have been photographing food recently, after seeing your clever thread title I was really hoping to see a "food foto."

Fabulous composition! Try bringing out more detail in the feathers to take the image to the next level.

That's quite a bit of feather detail for shooting a white bird in bright sunlight. I was able to get more in the one I submitted for a Mini Comp because he was turned and created more shadows...

If you select the bright tones of the bird and adjust the tone curve, a lot more detail can be brought out. I spent about 30 seconds to make the change shown below, though I concede that given five more minutes I could have made it even better.

EDIT: Once TinyPic or a substitute capability returns, I will delete my Zenfolio collection that I'm temporarily using to display images at CiC while TinyPic is down. Once that collection is deleted, the image will no longer be displayed in this post.

Nice one, Chris. Those who haven't tried it can't appreciate how quickly this even occurs. Virtually invisible(at least unrecognizable) to the eye in real time.

That's a good point especially for me because I've never tried it. Chris, were you aware of the fish when you captured the image?

He was hunting and I was shooting at 5fps so was hoping to get this shot but it is really difficult even at 10fps to get this lucky.

I am not sure how much further I can go with this image before the feathers become more important than the shrimp.

Ah, I see that it is indeed a shrimp, not a fish.

The feathers look great now, so much so that in my mind they need no further improvement.
