Nice shot Sharon. There is a lot more detail in that cloud highlight if you have access to a curves tool.

Thank you John for your thoughts, and yes....

Part of the problem I have is not wanting to go too far. Makes me not go far enough to make it more presentable
Here's some more work in lightroom as you suggest.

That makes a difference Sharon. It's not dragging the eye away from the rest of the scene now. It looks good in lightbox.

Yes, the previously over exposed areas now have plenty of detail

Thank you Susan. Still learning 😀. This is such a great space to get some honest feedback, and learn from all the fantastic work displayed.

I can feel and see that already - :+). If you don't mind me asking what do you shoot with Sharon? Fuji perhaps?

Thank you Susan, this is a great place to learn

Yes to Fuji. Pretty new with Fuji (xpro-2) having used a Canon 7d for some time. Love the Fuji in comparison. I do like the mirrorless system, and feel fuji quality is quite high. So far only using prime lenses. I doubt I will find a need for a zoom lens, but they are more convenient probably.

How about you Susan, what do you use?

    Hi Sharon,
I shoot and am enjoying mirrorless too - with my Oly EM5 Mark II. I got bitten by the Milky Way bug this past summer and can only push it so far with the Oly but I'm still learning and having fun with such a lightweight system. I mostly use my primes with the exception of the 12-40 pro lens which is a great workhorse. Love that thing! I really like the Fuji quality.

Hi Sharon. Like the others I like the second image with the detail in the clouds. I wonder too if you could lighten the shadows a tad on the island to give it a little more light/detail there ?

Hi Susan, I'm right there with you. I am pleasantly happy with the fuji. Very nice lenses as well :-)
Look forward to seeing more of your work. Happy shooting!

I agree, the island is a bit dark with the shadows, and could really use some work. The sun was coming down, so it was tough, but I should work on it more.

The shades of blues in the sky and especially the distant land are amazing.
