Oxey Mead
Another local walk and a another small part of our journey along the Thames - this is Oxey Mead just 'off' the river around Oxford. This wild meadow and wetland is bordered by two major A roads, a railway and a canal - so it wasn't a 'quiet' walk, however it was peaceful, especially as I have travelled on the aforementioned roads so many times and didn't really know this area was here.
C&C welcome

Re: Oxey Mead
Kay, that is an interesting photo. I hope you don't mind me asking but is it right out of the camera or did you do any post processing?

Re: Oxey Mead
Great composition and mood! I wish the depth of field had included the lower left corner of the scene. Consider eliminating the three little twigs (two horizontal and one vertical) at the right side of the frame that seem to emanate from outside the frame. There seems to be some errant masking around the very top part of the fallen tree, which speaks to Paul's question about whether you did any post-processing.

Re: Oxey Mead
Good exposure and a nicely focused foreground gradually fading into the far distance.

Re: Oxey Mead
Nice framing. Too bright for my taste.

Re: Oxey Mead
What a lovely discovery. Peaceful and quiet to the eye if not the ear. Really nice composition with the branch reaching for the sky in the top third of the frame.

Re: Oxey Mead
Very special. The almost extreme brightness makes the picture.
Works just fine for me.

Re: Oxey Mead
Thanks all for comments - it was a dull old day but somehow this image transcended that.
To answer the question, yes there is some PP - I cooled the white balance a little and reduced the vibrance as I wanted a more wintery look. Also some selective clarity and sharpening on the main branch - which I am now going to look at again as you are right the top tip of the branch has a little errantness. Will also eliminate those twigs - thanks for spotting those Mike - I did a couple but still missed some !

Re: Oxey Mead
Good eye for finding this one, Kaye. Beautiful. I do not mind the brightness either. It makes or breaks the shot and for me, it made it.
