    Hot chicks sunbaking.

The long hot dry summer drags on. But this little chick was enjoying the afternoon sun. Right outside the front door - I couldn't back off and had no time to change to a shorter lens.

I went down to a local Billabong - only a short walk from the road. This Spotted-wings Ligyra Beefly seemed to want to soak up the heat from the tarmac even thought I could feel the heat through my shoes. Maybe it wanted to cook its lunch.

The heat haze made a sharp shot of this Wanderer butterfly impossible:

I blundered into this little lady's web. It would make good piano wire.

    Great Egret mug shot.

And of course my favourite little birds - even the ladies posed this week.

What nice images. So glad I got to see them - especially the spider.

Good exposure and great clarity on all of them.

Nice set Richard I would reduce the highlights in #1 a bit and blur the BG some more to make the bird stand out .

Richard, you forgot to number your images for reference when I am not looking at them and just trying to remember which is which. Nevertheless...I like this series, well, except for the spydie...the fly is good too but is it alive? It looks splat on the tarmac. It will be fun to see it smokin'.

Sorry Izzie - I really must remember to number them.

Thanks Binnur, I've done some PP on it but TinyPic is spitting the dummy again.
