The long hot dry summer drags on. But this little chick was enjoying the afternoon sun. Right outside the front door - I couldn't back off and had no time to change to a shorter lens.
I went down to a local Billabong - only a short walk from the road. This Spotted-wings Ligyra Beefly seemed to want to soak up the heat from the tarmac even thought I could feel the heat through my shoes. Maybe it wanted to cook its lunch.
The heat haze made a sharp shot of this Wanderer butterfly impossible:
I blundered into this little lady's web. It would make good piano wire.
