    Tadoussac

I am fortunate to be traveling to Canada again this week to see my son. It prompted me to have a look at some photos of my last trip and I found some I had not really previously looked at . So, we have summer days here - I am hoping these scenes will be covered in snow this week

Nice scenic captures, I like the second best as the scene is very inviting and has nice perspective. With the first image, I like the foreground area however the upper area/background seems overpowering at upper left and too hazy at upper right. I do like the upper area if the foreground was totally cropped, hence to me you have two separate compositions within this image.

I hope you're taking your winter wear along for the trip as I suspect you will see the complete opposite of what you experienced during your summer trip. I expect you are heading to the Montreal area?

I understand Ottawa received over 20 inches / 52cm of snow last week (Montreal and Ottawa have very similar snowfall patterns), so I would expect Montreal to be very much the same. I understand it has been the snowiest winter in about 10 years.

I am looking forward to seeing your trip images...

I prefer #2...I am trying to look for "what are you trying to photograph" subject in #1 but I think my creative blindness is taking shape instead.

Thanks Manfred. Yes we're all packed with lots of warm weather gear and boots - but, horror or horrors the weather forecast for Montreal this weekend is 13degrees - that's warmer than home and the warmest since 1956. I will be sorely miffed if we don't get snow sometime in our stay.

The "good news" (?) is that mid-winter thaws are not all that uncommon and usually don't last for more than a few days. If it is that warm, the air will hold a lot of humidity and a short blast of air from the Arctic regions usually means a decent snow fall. It looks like things will be heading back to more seasonal temperatures starting on Sunday and there is some snow in the forecast. I'm not heading back to Canada for a few more weeks and know that we always seem to get a late winter storm in late March and even into early April.

    Have a great trip!

Both are nice, yet the second image is a real winner
