    Sunset, Mandeville, Louisiana

We have a great place to shoot Sunsets here in Mandeville. Our southern border is Lake Pontchartrain and as you can see in this shot, there's a bridge that clearly separates the sky from the water. Trivia: It's the longest bridge in the world, 24 miles. :-) This is a 30 second exposure using a Hoya ND400 neutral density filter. CC welcome!

Please pardon the site rookie. :-) I didn't see the download box below the dialog box. I hope you can see the image now. I used IMGUR to copy/paste the shot. Apparently it doesn't work for everyone. My apologies!

I can see it now David It is a beautiful sunset with lovely colors. I would crop about 1/3 of the water . IMO this would make a better composition with a bigger portion of the sky in the frame. Also the bridge would be more noticeable this way

Funny you mentioned the crop. I just made it into a 16X24 print for an exhibit (I make the frames as well ) and did crop a bit of the water out to get it to fit a little better.

David -- very nice. Some people don't like sunset shots but I do because of the colour. To me it cannot be interpreted what the eyes see in real time.
