    Portraits

Dont normally do people but was at a local Food and Drink festival a while ago - the first guy was selling food but was clearly involved in a tattoo artist venture (Twisted Ink) the 2nd guy was selling a very popular product - tasters were free and he had no problem selling it after you tasted it !

Both look good and you seem to have captured their personalities with these shots.

    Re: Portraits

Thanks Jean, it was a quick check to make sure the eyes were okay - not hidden by the glass frame etc and then a take

Looks like they both enjoyed mugging for you-that's always a bonus. Nicely done.

    Re: Portraits

Mark - both of these are super captures. However, I might think about cropping #1 so that there is more space in front of his face (image left) than to the rear....

    Re: Portraits

Thanks Richard, - problem with that is the shot is in a marquee and there is a post there ! was the best angle I could get - may try to clone it and see if i can get it good enough to give a bit more space

Good fun image in #1 -- I like the expression on his face. I believe he has been modelling before that he doesn't mind doing some more posing for you. That is what I like in festivals -- there are a lot of models willing to pose without getting paid to do so. On both shots, the expression on their eyes made this pictures excellent in the way you presented them. No efforts there with the second shot either. Love them both.

    Re: Portraits

I cropped this a bit closer which allowed more space in front than to the rear of his face.

feels a bit too tight to me Richard, I liked the feel of him being on the left looking into the right with space there, one of those that will take time to decide on i think

    Re: Portraits

Although his face is slightly looking to the left side his eyes are looking to the right; so, for me, the one cancels the other and the original image worked out OK.

If I was going to do anything in the way of alteration I would be thinking about adding just a fraction more canvas on the left then cloning into it.

    Thanks John2,

    Cheers John.

Think I will leave the crop as is for the first one and put it into my local camera club comp for mono and see what the judge says
