Interesting with its simplicity...the shadow on the window itself resemble ribbons.

Love this image. There is something with this image that makes me want to keep coming back to look again.

    Re: Window Light

I like the premise for making the shot but I have several visual miscues that bother me. First and an easy fix is the skewed horizon line (I've marked with a white line where I corrected), and the second is the wall outcrop on the far right. I cloned and copied sections for correction, but perhaps if you can reshoot this, do so at an earlier time so the shadow is further to the left to be able to exclude that area...it just drew my eye there and once there, like something stuck in your teeth..you just gnaw at it until you are crazy.

I think I'm happy with your original John. The horizon line doesn't bother me as the window looks levelled and straight. Nice conversion, I like the toning

    Re: Window Light

hmm, once state the horizontal is visibly off on the base but as Binnur says the window is fine in that its so slight, the wall on the right does not bother me at all and as I expect a light patch on that side it sits okay for me, the slight part walls either side are okay or can go - not a big deal for me either way . I like it a lot and as previous comments keep coming back to it

    Re: Window Light

Thanks all for the comments. I did correct for perspective using the window bars and according to the grid pattern built in to my graphics monitor, the window is just about square. I can't pretend to have noticed the slight fall off of the skirting at floor level that Chris has indicated and ideally, that should have been corrected also. However, in the scheme of things, I'm not sure how important that is given that my intent was principally to capture the relationship and the pattern formed between the window and the light cast on the floor. The corner lines were left because to a degree, they framed the comp and I guess, because after all they were there. We all see these things differently I guess but that is the joy of posting on the forum so all views accepted.
