    Guatemala: Ocellated Turkey

I'm not a birder, but when a bird this colorful is so easy to photograph that I can easily get this close using a 35mm lens mounted on a 1.5 crop camera and when I can predictably stop the action using a shutter of only 1/80, even I will make a photo.

Though the round thing hanging from its neck is attractive, it's apparently a tumor and is not at all normal.

Oh dear, TinyPic and internet caching is playing silly whatsits again Mike,

I am seeing a blue/yellow table of what I believe are the names and heights of Slovenian Mountains
I suspect Roy is seeing the same.

It should fix itself within a day or so (usually does), allowing us to see your bird.
Or you could re-upload and get a new link which hopefully will work straight away.

Your other posts I have seen today have been OK; e.g. Maple Syrup

I uploaded the image again. Both image files displayed fine on my end.

I can see the bird image Mike Very colorful bird and a sharp and clear image. The bright part on the upper right, next to the top frame is a bit distracting. I would clone that part.

Beautiful bird and beautiful capture, Mike. I like the addition of the information about the tumour, which gives a story. The tumour looks sore, but may not be (I hope!). I like Binnur's suggestion - and additionally I suggest the addition of a subtle vignette.

    Thanks, Jim!

The bird's activity and character were the same as all of the other birds, which suggests that the tumor was not causing any pain. The image already includes a subtle vignette, apparently too subtle for your taste.

It's a fine line between subtle and practically non-existent Mike !

I cannot see the turkey picture. Perhaps it is just us in the UK that cannot see it! Judging by the comments, it seems to be worth seeing.

Very nice image; If you hadn't mentioned that to be a tumor, every body would think that to be another big one of what is seen on the head...

How could you not 'shoot' it - so colorful. I'm dying to see some feather closeups.

    Continued thanks to everyone!

Sorry, Susan, but I have no close-ups of the feathers. I had a 35mm prime lens mounted on my camera because I was shooting Mayan pyramids at the time.

Great job, Mike. The colors were worth stopping to capture.

    Roy, John,

    Yes.
Seems to indeed be a UK thing, I am still seeing the table, not the Turkey, despite a 'hard' refresh of page
