Landscape is not my forte, so glad of any tips and advice.

Nice to see a bit your part of the world. My first instinct is to suggest cropping a bit off the left hand side so that that flax becomes a foreground element of a shot of the lake and mountains. If it was your intent to highlight the flax, then the crop should be off the right hand side and a bit off the top. The small vertical plants in the lower right corner might profitably be cloned out in any case. I think an important part of landscape is to be clear what the major focus of the shot is and compose to highlight that element.

    Best wishes!

Valuable feedback, thanks, Judith (my wife is Judy). The flax is meant to enhance and complement the scene. I should clone out the vertical plants that you mention, also. Now .... to mull about the appropriate crop!

Beautiful colors; Not much to say; i feel Judith said right about cloning; i would also suggest removing the white thing on the left bottom line, which, i think not to be a flower

I would be wary of cropping, Jim. Maybe just a fraction from the left side; perhaps half the amount between the left hand flax flower stalk and the frame edge? But if you retain the same image ratio that will also mean a bit off the sky. Possibly OK but have a think beforehand.

Maybe a case for producing two versions then comparing them side by side.

Otherwise, everything looks good. Composition and exposure are fine and a sharply focused foreground.

I agree with Geoff here...but in any case, are you able to go back to this place easily? If I were you, I will move a little bit to the left side to completely eliminate that bush on the left side and show more the curve of the beach. Get a dog or another peron walking too somewhere there for the human or animal elements. The scene is ripe to photograph on several angle especially if you want to pick and share. Just a thought...it is good start.
