This was taken a few years ago on an Excellent Adventure to Lake Superior, which for some strange reason I always think of as Ojibwe Gichigami, which is it's Aboriginal name.
While my dear Photobuds Simone and Richard were busy shooting waterscapes, I noticed a Great Lakes freighter far out on the water, and as always when I see them, I was overcome with a feeling of longing to know the mystery of their voyages. This combined with the dark, scudding sky made for a scene that I had to shoot.
