Are those bullet holes in the end wall?...if so the marksman "couldn't hit a barn door"...
Evocative shot, I can almost smell the dust and old hay.

I'm not sure about the composition - maybe she could have hung the red trousers in the middle of the line instead of on the end? I'd ask her but...

    Fishing is a tough job

Went for a couple of hours fishing today.

    Day 02 - October 2010 PAD

Things didn't exactly go to plan. Near the harbour entrance I found a dory with 50 hp outboard on the rocks but managed to tow it clear and returned to the quay with it.

On the second attempt, one of the Ladies Gig Rowing teams rowed past me, so I thought that would make a good photo; but found my lens had fogged up.

When the lens eventually warmed up and cleared, I took a few photos of another fisherman.

Perhaps not totally sharp (1/750, F11, ISO 400) but that could be due to some fogging remaining inside the lens.

Since I'm not as smart as most of you about posting here (ie I don't know how to put a picture in the post), my Day1 and Day2 pictures can be viewed two places:

    and

    You lookin' at ME?

    Day 02 - October 2010 PAD

    Canon 500D, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM @ 200mm, f/4, 1/90, ISO 400, on a monopod. Full EXIF, PAD slideshow.

Old reliable: the bird feeder. But with the new lens, I can do it on the monopod instead of with the remote setup and tripod. Light is rather flat, but I needed to catch up. I'm not sure of species, maybe a Song Sparrow?

    C&C are always welcome.

    Cheers,
    Rick

We've had that very same rain cloud, the last couple of days. It may encourage you to know that my landscape is the very last of that huge storm - I mean, literally! Clear sky is coming!

I'm planning to practice using my new 430EX II speedlite, but the cable to take it off-camera hasn't arrived yet, so I'll have to be content with really awful shots like this one. It's awful because it looks unnatural, would anybody be able to describe precisely how?

    Hi Katy!

I like this shot very much. Where in VT are you? I graduated from UVM - it seems like many years ago.
I live so close now, it seems odd I get so few opportunities to get up there.

I'll let others more experienced than I critique your shot. I find it very pleasing to the eye.

    Keep shooting!

Good on you Dave Humphries. I looked at the page source and see that I need to learn a bunch of html language to be able to do this. So, if you are inclined, please edit subsequent days efforts and I'll keep studying the page source. One day I may be able to write my own. I do some very simple stuff on Pbase but this looks way more complicated. Again, thanks.
