    Drobo 5D

Large capacity backup, nothing new but supposedly acts as HD as well as security. 4-8 bays, up to 64 TB.

Added a link, as with most large capacity file storage systems there has been some criticism of the gear; but supposedly crashed drives can be recovered by the end user.

John I have used Drobo networked (FS and 5D) drives as my primary storage/backup for a number of years. I used on of the original 1st gen Drobos (USB) for a number of years until I retired it a few years ago and bought the 5S.

    They work as advertised.

    Hi Manfred,

As I suspected, been using a few of the Western Digital models for a few years and have seen similar ups and downs through the WD forums.
