The late summer chicks are maturing fast. This Blue-faced Honeyeater's face is turning from green to adult blue.
#1 It is now skilled at hunting for lunch.

#3 This young male Superb Fairy Wren did a kangaroo impersonation.

His sisters were busy mutual grooming.

#8 Sadly the Pied Cormorant has gone rusty.


#9 The Forest Kingfisher is having a moult.


#10 The Little Shrike Thrush is in fine condition.

#11 This young male Red-backed Fairy Wren is just getting his mating plumage too.

Although shy at first he suddenly decided to pose; he stayed in one place for well over a minute and showed off all sides. Normally they move every half second.

I am in awe, Richard ! ..... and that is to an Aussie, our cousins and competitors over the ditch. Others seem a bit blase, but my feeble efforts at birds pale in comparison.
