This image, at least for now, is one of my favorite abstracts. The subject is the base and partial stem of the broken wine glass used to make this photo and this photo.
The subject was captured with the base perpendicular to the tabletop and the stem facing the left side of the frame. The image was rotated during post-processing to make the base and stem face upward.
The captured scene is about 60% larger than my APS-C sensor.
Setup
The background made of translucent vellum is lit from behind by a small continuous-light lamp.
