    Hi John:

Great shot! I am not sure where the bridge is located in Tekapo... is it new? I have been there a few times but don't recall such a structure.

Is that green water of glacial origin?

Yes, the Grey Glacier and Maud Glacier both run into the Godley River which flows into Lake Tekapo. The green colour is typical of the lakes in the area.

No, I don't recognise the foot bridge, unless it is a new one from Tekapo township to the Church of the Good Shepherd, to stop tourists from crossing the main road, and likely to get run over.

If you go to Google Earth and drag the little guy down to street view, you see the foundations in place but no bridge. The aerial view does show the foot bridge in place, so bridge was installed some time in between. Looks like a foot bridge that terminates at Pioneer Rd. Oh...by the way, I like the picture. 🙂

Thanks Ken and Ron for the helpful info. It seems like a great idea to get people to the church without putting them on the road, and the view from the centre of the bridge would be quite interesting I think.
