I think that this is a great capture and like the vignette. I am not keen on the black border because, IMO, it blends in with the vignette too much. Perhaps a very thin inside border in white or gray might separate the border from the vignette.

Richard I may need to recrop a bit to show more or less on the sides - the 'border' is actually two metal posts but very hard to make out. ..or create a distinct border myself. Thanks! for your thoughts.
..maybe if I lighten it, especially on the right top, that will work, thanks again.

I like it, but agree it might be improved without the frame edges up both sides.

Then I got distracted wondering what the nozzles were for.

If fire suppression, I hope they don't spray water on a fat fire.

    But I digress.

I like how the blur implies movement and the passage of time, while the processing lends mood and atmosphere. The stationary objects are clear and sharp. Not easy to do, at least not for me, and something I have yet to try satisfactorily. Very well done, Susan.

Did you have any support for stability?

Thanks John and Dave, I appreciate the review. Dave those nozzles were part of the reason I took the shot -huh? They may be for filling the huge pots with water - maybe??

Hi Sergio, Those three guys didn't stop moving for one moment - a well oiled operation. It was a bit of a wait so I placed the camera on the counter some distance away and shot at f8 for 0.8 sec. I probably just used the touch screen to shoot but may have put it on a delay. Thanks for looking and your comments.

A great concept and well made. I'm very often disappointed with street photography especialy as is so often the case, it is just a snapshot of what is there. Occasionally something out of the ordinary is captured, sometimes through quick response (e.g. some of Cartier Bresson's iconic captures) and occasionally a photographer's good eye will make something of a scene like this. I like this a lot.

I tried to do something like this one time but using people crossing a busy intersection. Your result is far superior to anything that I got. I agree with a previous statement that doing this is not easy. Nicely done!

John and Rita, thanks for the comments. I will go back and look at the blk and wht again but in the mean time I have posted the original color shot. I want to experiment/exercise more with blk and white to see if I can learn to see a bit differently with regards to light and contrast.

It works equally well for me in either mono or colour.

I am stealing this shot from google, OK? (...it is not mine) just a reference as to what it is used for...besides I want to test uploading again in tinypic if it works...

Did we get that? And oh, did I say that I like the b/w version better? I will just asked that you crop a tiny bit of the curtain at the top as it does not do anything to the scene. Just a thought...

Those spigots have got to do more than hold ladles ;-). Fire suppression is looking like a good bet. You are quite right about the crop Izzie - thank you!
