Does anybody remember Archive Creator?

It was a pretty handy image archiving package which created archives to CD or DVD. It spanned disks, created slideshows, and didn't require the software to access the data.

Unfortunately, the developers "improved" it into unusability and then abandoned it.

Does anybody know of something similar still being published?
