Really nice shot Randy. Mama is still basking in it all... I have fond memories of Brookfield Zoo- a lama ate my hair there.

Thanks, Susan, for your kind comment. I'll bet that the Brookfield Zoo llama that you encountered was in the Hammill Family "Wild Encounters" area. The current llama is very inquisitive, so I can imagine one "tasting" your hair!

You are correct :-) Wild Encounters, though I don't remember if it was called that back then. And you are also correct, it only tasted my hair. Looking at this again I wonder if you might crop the LH side 2/3 of the way through the post? ...perhaps not! Again, lovely shot Randy.

I am still laughing at Susan's experience with the llama. ... can't get it out of my head...

I wonder how I had missed that thread about this orangutan...I can't even remember if I was home or not...I am getting old and that is not a good thought at all. Anyway, this shot is a very nice angle despite the structure very near to he mom and the face of the little one is so cute and pronounced, maybe because of that expession on her face. You also got the nice loving expression and gesture on the face of the mom there. Very good job, Randy...

Susan, I also don't particularly like the concrete post in the picture. You can see more of such structures in the background, too. It's what the primates in this particular area of "Tropic World" climb on. If I understand your suggestion for the crop, that would cut-off the mother's right arm, right shoulder, and would result in a "disconnected or phantom" portion of her right foot remaining. As I cropped it, you can see her right shoulder, the area near her right elbow, and, under her chin, a flexed portion of the dorsal surface of her right foot. Thanks, again, for your kind comment.

Thanks, Izzie. The mother, Sophia, is one of my favorite animals at the zoo. I've caught glimpses of her baby in the past, but because the baby was very small and always suckling, they were views of the baby's back. This was the first time I got a relatively unobstructed view of the baby's face.
