Helpful Posts: A barrel racing course is a triangle within the arena. The top riders make a turn around each of three barrels on the way up the arena come back at a full gallop and make a very quick stop after the timer is passed. By rule, the gates are closed so that a stop is required.
When I am shooting these things I end up with hundreds of images that need sorting out. The riders don't wear numbers and I don't know their names so I come up with a descriptive name for them to help find them again. The rider in the last series is Pink Shirt. This is Fancy Pants with a shot at each barrel.

Another good series, Brian. Must be fun to be there. Beautiful horse. I like the angles showing the structured shadows very well.
