A cacophony of colors and textures found in a brown butterfly

To my eye this butterfly was brown. With a macro lens and some skillful focusing a cacophony of colors and textures emerged.

You don't get the effect until you look in litebox, but then yes: cacophony of colors and textures.

    Well done Brian.

Is that some kind of Skipper?

it's standing on 4 legs and if you look closely you will note the 2 atrophied front legs. I think that makes this a Brushfoot.

Excellent work, Brian. I also think it might be a type of skipper, some type of Philippine Swift.

Skippers and Brushfoots are close relatives. It takes more of an expert than me to tell them apart.
