IMO, maybe too tight. Even if it is a technical feat to have this bird in such a close-up

Point well-taken regarding the tight crop, Jean. Thanks.

I think it is nice that you were able to show the sharpness of its feather. I just doesn't suit the overall look of it, meaning, I would suggest a portrait shot showing only the head and neck and part of the chest ... I have seen someone did that here once and it was good. Try it on this one...but first click on the image and move it around to see where you need to crop it to make a better presentation.

I like Izzie's idea too Randy. The head of that goose is extraordinary!

    Re: Cape Barren Goose

According to Wikipedia, this goose is found in portions of southern Australia, breeds in grassy islands off the coast of Australia, and is one of the rarest geese in the world. They primarily feed by grazing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Barren_goose

At Brookfield Zoo they can be found in a grassy yard adjacent to the "Australia House." Their black bill is short, and the green structure is a cere, which contains the nares (nostrils).

Izzie & Susan, thanks for your kind comments. Here's a slightly different view of a goose that concentrates on it's head & neck region. I think this is what you had in mind with your suggestion.

Nandakumar, thanks for viewing and commenting on the photo. I, too, had never seen or heard of this species of goose until I encountered it at the zoo.
