Hi Pete,
No.....no funky colours for me,the Irish tradition of funky colours on house front's is geting as scarce as leprechaun's, however they can still be found in certain parts of the country.

Today I had to take a bus ride to retrieve my auto from across town. Why it was there is a long story. I took my camera along and took a number of shots. It was sort of fun:) This is profile of my bus driver.

Tried some night photography - not many keepers.
I think I'm happiest with this one.

Close ... grilled chicken, previously marinated in a Portuguise recipe with a HOT piripire sauce (not every man can handle this!), coleslaw, a slice of cheese, a slice of tomatoe, and fries :)
Lunch on the fishing boat was better today though ... stuffed chicken pieces wrapped in bacon, Lamb josh rogan with rice, mini salami pizza, and cauliflower and broccoli. That wasn't the choices ... that's just what I had! I think I might skip tea ...

Wasn't really happy with any of my shots today, but have to post one.
I am having problems accessing smugmug.com to upload my image which I shot last evening. I was playing with my 300mm f/4L IS to see how close of an image I could get with it. It is pretty darn close,,, an image of a handful of coins. I have left the setup and will shoot the same image with my 1.4X TC attached. Then I will use a closeup filter (which I got at a flea market) and see just what kind of an image I can get with that rig.
I have a 90mm Tamron macro lens which I love and don't expect the 300mm to replace it, but I want to go to a monarch butterfly preserve (nearby) and thought that the lens to subject distance of the 300mm f/4L IS lens might be the way to go - with or without the TC. I really don't have much faith in the close up lens but, it was so inexpensive that I could not resist buying it. Three U.S. dollars and it has no scratches...
FINALLY... here is the image Canon 40D with 300mm f/4L IS lens 1/60 second @ f/18 hand held using studio strobes. This is full frame with no cropping.

When it stops raining, I will play with this setup outside. However, if the rain continues for several more days (which is expected) it will be a blessing in reducing the wildfire hazards.

The joys of working in London... Had the wrong aperture setting but took it anyway as I had to jump on a "98 percent full" bus, or take my time and get on a "full way past bursting point" bus.
It looks more dramatic in B&W but someone might have better ideas on how I could have improved this.
