    Leucocoprinus birnbaumii lifecycle.

We got 30mm of rain and within a few hours Leucocoprinus birnbaumii was almost full grown.

By morning it had deployed its umbrella and spoors.

Then the sun came out and it quickly wilted - its life's work complete.

Really wonderful shots Richard and love the timeline. Pretty little yellow thing... I love to hunt for mushrooms but haven't done much with the camera - these are an inspiration.

A nice sequence. This must be related to the inkcaps, Coprinus which have back spores. In them, the whole cap deliquesces to yield the black ink. Your fungus seems to do it with yellow ink.

Very nice Richard...and nice sequence, though I didn't like the last one, it is a must for the cycle of life of that mushroom.
