Passing by

I had to drop my car off at a garage for a service and had time to kill - so I went for a walk, I took my camera bag as I had a shot in mind on the walk that i wanted for a set subject that sort of worked okay, but I found this as well and could not resist taking it and processing it.

Thanks Bruce, its one of those things, I walked passed it at first thinking 'thats nice'- then on the way back I walked passed it again then walked back to it and thought 'No I really do need to take this' Glad i did

In Victoria there are many benches there dedicated in memoriam to people who have passed one. In this case the bench seems to have died instead...

Once upon a time, this must have a beautiful place to sit down and contemplate on the scenery or just think ... that time is now ravaged by fallen branches and perhaps never to return. This must be last stage of decay. Time to move on. This is the thought that came by while looking at the this shot. I like the vignette treatment too to isolate the bench.

Indeed Trev, this one is ( was) a Council bench but it is now sadly a 'memory of a bench'

it was raining so there are a few spots on the lens, the area was a forestry plantation and it was cut down last year - these are the softwood trees they never bother with as they are of no value to them. I like their lonely stand

Now, that is not a bad scene either -- just looking at that will make you think and get lost in your thoughts, perhaps look at the beauty of the fog or the trees by themselves collectively...or something else...

Sorry Tony, I dont do people exept on rare occasions and as it was wet, cold and raining I suspect they would have to be mad not brave

Just shows that nature doesn't miss an opportunity to take over where we are guilty of neglect. Does make you wonder why it's fallen off some one's radar. Nice find and capture Mark.

I think Tony is joking ... you'll have to do a lot of gardening to be able to have a pretty model to pose on that bench -- naked.
