Hi Susan I too live in Portland and LOVE this bridge. I know it can be more difficult to photograph than it appears. It'll be wonderful to see this angle when spring (finally) gets here and the tree has blossoms. So, what part of town are you in?

I am one who wouldn't cut my husband out if he is in the picture too. 'Fact is I choose to have him in my shots at times...unless he prefers to wait aside for a while. Anyway, that said, I will offer another alternative -- clone out the two lights on the left hand side. Then everyone can notice your husband more. I agree with others about the b and w points too. +1 to them. I like the frame within the frame shot and I am suire you can make this shot pop up a little bit more.
You're correct, John, about the Wrap Quotes capability. Thanks for pointing that out!
Hi Kris,
I recently left PDX after 30 years though I'm still in Oregon. I regret not taking more images of the top side of the bridge- especially at night. That willow tree gets very yellow in the spring and is worth catching in bloom if you can.;-) Shooting underneath on a foggy day works pretty good here too.
Thanks Izzie - I'll look at the clone idea and between you and me I'll print at least one with that tiny handsome white head in there.
Hi again Susan, I like your edited version
I agree that the second version is far better.
In the future, when you add a photo to the first post of the thread, let us know by posting a new message indicating that information. If Binnur hadn't mentioned your new version in her post, I would never have known you provided the improved image.
