    PS Challenge

I will try to explain this as best as possible. Ok, I started with one photo and flipped it horizontally and saved it with a different file name. Now I have two photos that mirror each other. What I would like to do (if it's even possible) is join the two together. In other words the left and right edges of each photo would be gone and you would have one photo but with the two original photos still mirroring each other in a single photo file. I hope this makes sense. If it's possible in PS CS5 please let me know the secret. Thank you.

Just to give you a quick response, it can very definitely be done in any version of Photoshop except Lightroom. I've done things like that so many years ago using the very first version of Photoshop Elements that I would have to relearn how to do it myself in a more recent version. Instead, I'll let someone who has more expertise let you know how to make everything happen.

I just realized that what you want to do is not as complex as I originally thought, so I'll provide how to do it though without referencing exact menu items. That's because I don't have Photoshop CS5.

    1. Open both files in Photoshop and display them so you can view both of them at the same time.
    2. Increase the canvas size of Image #1 so it is large enough to accommodate Image #2.
    3. Select the entire Image #2. Select the Move tool and drag and drop Image #2 into Image #1's extra space created in the above step.
    4. Save the newly created image file, taking care to use a new and unique filename so you don't accidentally write over Image #1.

Ok Mike, I will give this a shot within the next couple of days. I'll try to let you know how it went. Thanks for getting back to me with the information.

    Yes it’s possible.

    Open the image in Photoshop.
Use crop tool, extend either left or right edge according to your need.
You have to extend till the middle anchoring point reaches the edge of the original photo.
    Then press enter.
Now you can duplicate the original one and flip using transformation tool.
Now move the image side to fill the transparent area.
Finally do the necessary retouching if required, and save the image in different name.
