The combination of simplicity and a great composition such as this always works well for me. The falling water droplet is a special touch that takes the image to the next level.

Personally I'm glad to see them go but I appreciate your shot ;-). It's been a loooong winter.

This is very cool. Nice work, and I really love the water drop. Emphasizes "melting"

I second Mike's view. Excellent in its simplicity!

Very nice...We kinda missed winter around our part of the world this year, well, apart from 1/2" of snow one day and then the recent 2" day before Springtime officially announced itself with a nice cold rain...I like the separate drip of this shot.

    Re: Melting Icicles

Thank you all for your kind comments. This was a spur of the moment shot although it took me several tries to get the drop in the frame. It is amazing how fast they go once they leave the tip of the icicle.

The combination of simplicity and a great composition such as this always works well for me. The falling water droplet is a special touch that takes the image to the next level.
Mike: I seem to be gravitating towards simpler compositions and cleaner background. Maybe I am developing a style? Time will tell.

Personally I'm glad to see them go but I appreciate your shot ;-). It's been a loooong winter.
Susan: By this time of the year, even winter enthusiasts like me don't mind the coming of spring.

    This is very cool
    Sharon: literally!

We kinda missed winter around our part of the world this year,
Izzie: I'll bet that you were not too sad that winter missed your place.

    Again thank you all.

No, I am not, André. If only this rain will stop then I can tidy up my garden at the back.

    Binnur,

I am generally not fond of B & W photos. But if you, or anybody else, would like to try a B & W version, go right ahead.

This is a very quick edit just to give an idea about the B&W look of the image. The conversion can be improved in many ways if one wishes
