    High Desert - Low Water

Exploring the other side of the Cascade Range these past few weeks has been an eye opener. Talk about different! A short hour and a half away from our rainforest climate is the high desert of Oregon. Today we came across this reservoir in the Tumalo Nature preserve.

I'm no landscape photographer but I give it my best shot - in this case that isn't completely true as I didn't stow my tripod..! I'm interested in any helpful thoughts you might have...other than 'bring your tripod' ;-)

    1. ...now that I have posted this I think about one third less sky would be a good crop..? High Desert - Low Water

Considering the quality of these photos, especially the last one, you might want to reconsider your thinking that you're not a landscape photographer.

Thanks Roy - I would have loved to spend a few hours there and steep in it all a bit more and catch the changing light.

With the first scene, I would be tempted to crop a little from the bottom and leave that good looking sky as it is now.

The others look fine to me.

Very nice. I like the way you used the trees to frame the image...

Thanks Geoff, Binnur, John, Nandakumar and Richard for your ideas and thoughts. I will go back here - it was an incredibly peaceful spot to sit and to shoot too.
