    Springtime

We went for a drive to one of our favourite spots yesterday - Balquhidder and lunch at the quirky Cafe Mhor 84. Hoped-for landscapes with snow-capped mountains melted in the sunshine, but managed a few Springtime macros.

This one is of an emerging catkin:

and this of a Broom blossom:

Nice efforts, that second one is a bit too fuzzy though.

+ 1, too bad, this is the one I prefer for colors and good BG.

Thanks John, Jean and Binnur. Not revealed in the OP is that I've been experimenting with some different routines for focus stacking and sharpening, and wanted to see what a fresh eye thought. Back to the drawing board

Not so fast Bill -- I want to say that I like #1 because it is interesting. I do not know if I have seen a catkin before and as for the second one, I kinda like the lighting hitting the sides of the petals there.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

First one is excellent; the second would be more attractive if you neutralize the yellow color of the flower in the background to avoid distraction
