Re: 2017 Project 52 - 2nd QTR - Sandy(Skitterbug)
Difficult exposure there, Sandy, but you have a nice bright image without any over exposure spots or over saturation.
Maybe a pity that you didn't remove that petal from the top left corner, or at least move it to one side so it didn't appear and cause distraction to an otherwise well composed scene.
Now, possibly selectively tone it down so it blends more into the background?
Re: 2017 Project 52 - 2nd QTR - Sandy(Skitterbug)
Hi Geoff and Joe!
So I gave a try to cloning out the top left section. I worked from the original photo so I'd have more to clone from. I believe I ended up with a bit tighter crop so I'm not sure about it but over all, perhaps a better photo? C&C appreciated always! :)

Re: 2017 Project 52 - 2nd QTR - Sandy(Skitterbug)
Yes, maybe a fraction tight on the bottom now; it was already getting tight at the top.
Maybe half way between this and the original?
We are a difficult bunch to please aren't we.

Hi Geoff ~ I can't do much about the top of the pic since that was the view I snapped but I did go back and try to adjust the bottom a bit. That gave me other problems but I think I worked through them okay. I'll post the results below.
I want to add that I am happy to try and please the "bunch" <chuckle> because that is the only way I am going to keep learning what might work and what doesn't! So keep the comments coming. I really do appreciate them! :)

I think your final edit has improved the shot. Good job!

Week 20
Time is passing by in a rush it seems. Warmer, less rain but still so much wind. I took the dianthus blossom pic with these settings because of that wind!
ISO1600 - f/8.0 - 1/4000ss - 55mm
I am still working on getting the light properly exposed on my subjects. It is a bit more iffy when the subject is outside!
Also, I'm endeavoring to use the tool - Radial Filter - in Light Room. I've attached a pic of its' location for anyone who may not know where to find it. I'm still learning how to use Light Room so processes/tools can hide from me!

I used the radical filter on my dianthus blossoms posted below.
C&C always welcome! And thank you!

Hi Sandy :) The light is a bit harsh is in this shot. IMO late afternoon would be a better time for such a scene and both the flowers and the BG would look better in soft light

Hi Binnur ~ I understand your thoughts. I did take it mid-afternoon when I found a bit of time to roam in our yard. It probably didn't help that this flower was located against a white garage. You can't see it in the shot but it would reflect the light from the south west pretty sharply. Thanks for your comments! I appreciate them!

Re: 2017 Project 52 - 2nd QTR - Sandy(Skitterbug)
21st week
We have a tiny Purple Locust tree that is struggling because the deer decided to use it for a place to rub their horns. We had it protected but apparently our protection was no match for Mr. Deer. So I was surprised that we were treated to some blossoms and I tried to capture a decent pic to share. Out of the ones I have, this one seems the best to me. It isn't a perfect specimen but none of the clusters were perfect. (sigh)
Comments and suggestions are always appreciated!

Thank you Nandakumar ~ Yes, this spring has been lovely. Most of our plants that produce flowers, did just that - bloom. And because the weather stayed cooler, the blossoms lasted. It didn't seem to matter where we walked in our area, there was something to see.
Isn't it interesting that nature does match the proper colors together? There is beauty everywhere if only we look for it.

Thank you very much, Joe. I take many pics but most of them end up in the rubbish can! I'm pleased with this one and I appreciate your comments! :)
