    Five Images in One

I took this photo in K Road, Auckland, at an open street event. I liked the way different people were reacting and doing different things. After a while this idea came to me, which I have never seen done before. Do you think it works well please? Realise that I still need to do some work on the man's hair (he with the red jacket).

Nice, a bit tight on the framing though.

It works exceptionally well for me the way it displays the overall scene while at the same time highlights each of its components. Maybe narrower white lines would work better, but my guess is that you tried various widths before deciding on this look.

    Very imaginative!

I really like the idea and the way you laid this out... Just wondering what it would be like if you switched the images on each side, therefore having the outside images "looking into" the image as a whole? That is just a thought... I may "steal" this idea from you sometime to do a rescue poster of some of my dogs...

Thank you Mike, that is much appreciated, especially coming from you ! Am pretty sure I did try various widths, and this has gone through quite a few incarnations.

So see if I understand this - you took one photo and added the lines to make it look like a collage of separate pics? I really like how this turned out! A very "cool" idea! And good photo to start with to boot!

I did have a quick trial with your suggestion, though I rotated them on the existing sides. Here is my rough effort. As you can see, Richard, the man's arm disappears, which would happen even if I switched sides. Good idea, but I can't see how it would work on this occasion?

I like both versions equally well. It doesn't matter to me that the second version lacks contiguous characteristics. The two versions tell different stories, neither better than the other in my opinion.

Good start, but I would probably look at going a step further:

This one does not work particularly well as you have lost the continuity of the images. Yes, it would have been nice it the people had been facing away from the frame when you took the shot, but the flip with the missing limbs, etc. does not give you any decent image flow.

I can only say "Wow" Manfred. This will take my head (thinking gear) some time to comprehend! New realms, we may be the new Andy Warhols .... or ....? :-O
