    On1-Raw update (april 2017)

I'm interested to have the opinion of On1-Raw users in the forum after the last update, few days ago. Is On1-Raw getting closer to Lightroom?
    Thanks for sharing thoughts

    Hi, In one word NO!!!
OK more than one word, I have tried to use OnOne software on my Win 7 16GB ram etc etc for the last must be 4 years now and it still crashes while working an image and compared to L/R and CS6 (yes CS6) it is so slow.
Me I will stick to L/R and CS6
Now just my opinion here others may have had success with it.

Well Russell I beg to differ. For me On1 phot RAW has never crushed and I use Windows 7 with 8GB Ram but perhaps my graphics card Nvidia GeForce GT740 helps ?

Although not as complete and powerful as Photoshop and ACR ( I don't have Lightroom) and certainly lacking a lot of the facilities Adobe programs can offer I fund it useful to use both programs and especially like the EFFECTS module like Dynamic Contrast filter and that you can easily choose different colours or tonal effects with your blend modes. Using the facilities of Perfect Brush while masking is also a quick and handy tool.

    Cheers / Patrik

I had to delete the on1 Raw 17 after the latest update because my computer froze completely when applying the enhancements and exporting the image resulted in an error message. I communicated this to On1 support and they responded asking for more information including a pdf of the entire log for one image. Since I haven't heard back yet with a solution, I deleted the entire program and have been working with the On1 Suite 10 that was still lurking on my computer.
