    Banana anyone

Taken right on the kitchen counter with window light. Four bananas in this image but right afterwards I ate one

Wonderful composition, great lines, interesting texture at the top, attractive vignette.

I would have preferred a smaller aperture to keep everything currently in focus and to include the most forward area of the top in focus. That area is so interesting! Check out an apparent masking mistake at the top of the bunch where a sliver of the background is unexpectedly bright. That area also includes a sharpening halo, which may only be in the downsized file you displayed here.

Thank you Mike for your helpful comments. I used a brush to add some exposure to the top darker area but seems I painted outside the lines a little. I can go back and correct that. This was a spur of the moment shot while I was trying to get a shot out the window of a Raven stealing a pancake so it was done hand help. I will touch it up some more.

    Thanks,
    Dave

The correction is a big improvement. I also prefer the less saturated appearance of the background in the second version.

I've never considered bananas as a photographic subject so thanks for broadening my horizons Dave. Your second edit has improved the image, well done.

Peter, the kitchen is full of great subject matter. Problem is I usually eat it before I remember to shoot it

I am not too fond of bananas but hubby is so I wait until it has a lot of freckles first then make a cake or smuffins out of them. Good shot!

Banana cake/muffins are great. Wife makes them often.
