Wine: Vallo Reale
Vallo Reale is an Italian brand of wine and I just love its label. This photo features just one small part of the label and I like the rest of the label just as much. (The wine made of Sangiovese grapes is good too!) So I made this photo.
The photo is the first of its kind I've ever made in that it's got the look of an advertisement. Whereas I have always lit wine labels unevenly in the past to show the round shape of the bottle, it was necessary to light the label this time as evenly as possible to make it appear mostly flat.
Setup
The background is art paper printed with a dark red and black pattern. Two captures, one of the foil and one of the front label, were lit evenly from both sides with two small continuous-light lamps. Part of the photo of the label was added to the photo of the foil.

Re: Wine: Vallo Reale
Mike I think you should put the label just in the LHS corner with "square bottom shape" (if you understand what I mean) and show more of the neck (foil?).
It's just my vision

Re: Wine: Vallo Reale
That's a great idea, Jean, especially for wine labels that don't complement the shape or color of their corresponding foils. Your concept would also work well for foils that are so busy that they would be too much of a distraction to be displayed "behind" the label. Thanks for the idea!

Nicely done, cool effect.
