Spring brightens up the gardens - and other places too. These were right beside the car when we parked at a country store this weekend.

That's life Jean, and there's the promise of all those young white ones just out of reach in the background.

Nice grab shot, Bill! It's great to take the time to capture a scene while running a relatively mundane errand. I never do that and admire you for it.

The same or worse could be said about any portrait of me no matter how expertly made.

Jean - your comment prompted me to try in B&W:

Their condition is less visible and works better for me, you can re frame just on them, IMO, blurred part is not useful to your picture .

Quite a bit of the delicacy of the petals is lost for me in the monochrome version. Using less contrast would help with that.

Thanks Jean. I prefer it the way it is, with the white flowers in be background leading the eye along a curve into the front and centre with the sharpness and size of the blooms increasing along the way.

Indeed it is Mike, I was concentrating on the floral trumpets and also trying something more low-key than my usual personal preference in a B&W.

Any how, thanks to both of you for taking time to review and comment - I enjoyed your input into what was from the outset more whimsical than serious

Bill -- I like the original one, tattered or not. I can see what you were trying to convey in shooting them. I couldn't have done it better that illustrating the circle of life. It still shows Spring at its best.
