At one point I thought we were going to have a 9-way tie for second place, but the final few votes sorted that out and we have a 2-way tie.

The two runners-up might have qualified as winners in most of the earlier competitions. I don't remember seeing Barbara's winning photo in the threads, so I've just gotta mention that it's absolutely stunning and is a standout even among all the winning entries in the years I've been following this competition.

This is always a difficult competition to try and pick a winner. All of the work displayed here this month (and every month) is wonderful but I have to say that voting for a March pic was easier for me because I love horses. Used to own several of them that were used for western riding. So when I scrolled to the last photo and spotted this lovely creature displayed in an excellent manner, it made my day!

Sandy so glad you enjoyed it. I as well am a huge horse fan, they make such a lovely subject. This particular shot was taken during the Houston Livestock show and Rodeo, it was a tribute to the working horse and was beautifully done. They brought out the grandmother, then her daughter, her grandaughter, her great grandaughter and then all the horses produced by them. It was done under spotlight and was incredible to watch. I was so happy to be able to capture the moment. This was just one of many shots I was able to get of them. I had been shooting the bronc riding right before this shot and did not have time to change my settings as it came as a surprise. I almost did not shoot them fearing the settings would be wrong but decided to give it a try and am so glad that I did.
