In a few of the documentaries and texts Bresson spoke about not making oneself noticeable to the subject, however in some of these it is obvious the subject is well aware of Bresson's presence; I find most of these India images far more representative of the decisive moment. One second earlier and the subjects would still be in their own moment, yet Bresson's timing captures them just as they break from that same moment. At least that's my interpretation of some of the scenes.
