    Tulip Palooza

I had a chance to tour some Willamette Valley tulips fields midweek. I've been interested in going here for years but the crazy weekend crowds had put me off. Did my heart good to see all the color! C&C always welcome.

Beautiful images of a lovely flower. For me, and landscape is not my forte, so take that into account, in #2 I find the tree and sky detract from the scene, it almost seems like 2 pictures merged. #3 is my favorite, however, I am wondering if a slight crop off the bottom would enhance the photo. In #4 the water for me is very distracting I find it more of the subject than the flowers and perhaps that was your intent. Overall a lovely set!

Such an enjoyable series! I never knew Oregon, especially Willamette Valley, has tulips. Good to know, though I wonder if the land couldn't be put to better use growing Pinot Noir grapes the area is so famous for.

I agree with Barbara about #2. If you would crop that to exclude everything other than the flowers, that would be a winner for me along with #3 and #6.

You had nicely diffused light and you took good advantage of it.

Thanks a lot Mike. The Willamette Valley is a bountiful place, grapevines included. It was an enjoyable outing. :-)

My reply didn't post - darn it.. HI! Thanks for your review and comments Barbara. I'll try that crop as you and Mike suggested -
I think the air is worthwhile at the bottom of #3 - a good ratio to my eye.
If those reflections slowed you down that was my intent. It kind of zips and zags doesn't it? A bit more foreground would have been ideal. Thanks! again.

Thanks John. I'm a happy sucker for reflections anywhere I find them.

Very nice. number 1 is the only one that doesn't catch me
Number 2 may be better cropped to just include tulips.
I didn't realize you guys did tulips too!
Ours are so late this year here in Skagit. Thinking next weekend will be peek.

I haven't been for a few years now, but, I know what you mean about the crazy weekend crowds. Much better to go weekdays. Too bad the sun wasn't out. The colors really hurt your eyes. Nice shots anyway.

Thanks Sharon for your comments. We do do tulips :-) and iris and dahlias, (which are my favorites and not to be missed!). They are saying peak here next week - but it's going to be a wet mess unfortunately.

Thanks Brian. I found it harder to shoot than I had anticipated - lots of people and a breeze made it a good challenge. The sunshine certainly hasn't been in great supply this spring!

I totally enjoyed your tulips journey...I have some from the botanical garden from last week but I still have to find the time to process them. Not as varied as yours here but OK. I like muddy reflections too. I did not mind that.
