Every once in a while I notice something during the normal course of day-to-day activities that gives me an idea for a photo. After years of reaching down into my kitchen cabinet for one of my stacked, stainless steel mixing bowls, which I use almost every day of the year, today I finally and inexplicably got the idea to make this abstract photo.
Setup
The camera is mounted on a boom above the scene. The tabletop is black velvet. A small continuous-light lamp is on the left. It lights only one area of the rim of each mixing bowl, so the other areas are lit by a white reflector placed on the right side of the scene.
