Hi Grant,
I cut my teeth on the HP 41C - and then CV - and then CX I still have the HPIL interface, HPIL printer, and HPIL Tape Drive (and card reader as you can see) ... oh, and I used to have the HPIL Video Adaptor as well! To be honest, I don't use mine much anymore as I find the 4 stack levels a bit limiting (I'm scared of over-flowing the stack and getting a wrong answer). My favourite weapon of choice is the HP50g with it's unlimited stack I was actually part of the beta testing team for the HP49g+ (and it's horrible missed or duplicated keystrokes bug) (I think I finally showed one of the programmers a way to reproduce it which allowed him to solve it). The 50g was basically HP's "apology" for the 49g+ (but they sure got it right). So I was only of the first 10 or so people in the world to get a 50g, and mine doesn't have a serial number

EMERGENCY SHOOT
Just as all of our 17 rescue puppies were reserved, we had a couple call to say that they were getting a divorce and cannot adopt the two puppies they had reserved. I needed to shoot recent views of these two puppies to get them on www.petfinder.com. The images we used previously were of the pups when they were much younger. Here is one of the pups as he looks now...
And here is the other guy..
\
We usually post one shot of the pup with just a black background and another shot of the pup in some type of playful pose. The vests are walking harnesses made by Mr. Wags who have donated a lot of their merchandise to our program. They are great for small dogs. We do not use collars on pups this small but, need to secure them with a lead so they don't jump off the posing table and get hurt. I clone out the lead...
My pictures usually get a lot of responses since very few images posted on www.petfinder.com (which is our main avenue to advertise our rescues) are decent and most of them are really terrible. Judy, my wife, really keeps our rescue dogs clean and pristine. This pup was born in our home so has always been clean and well fed. We rescued his mom from a garage in Las vegas, Nevada wher she was crammed into a small kennel with another pregnant female whom we also rescued. I was told that there were 40 dogs in the garage with no food and little water with a temperature of over 110 degrees f. (between 37 and 38 drgrees Centigrade). I didn't personally do the rescuing but my organization, American Maltese Association rescued the pregnant girls and transferred them to our care to have their babies. We cleaned up the girls, socialized them and each was adopted along with one of her puppies to a pair of families.
By the way, if you live in Southern California or are willing to travel there to adopt a Maltese, our dogs are found on www.petfinder.com by inserting ZIP code 92026 and Maltese as a breed. You can also find our available dogs and an adoption application on our website: www.julemaltese.com
Note: Less than eight hours after posting on www.petfinder.com; we received an adoption application for one of these puppies. Actually, finding healthy and clean Maltese puppies of this quality on a rescue site is akin to finding a Fabrege Egg at a rummage sale...

Thanks, Richard. I was far from relaxed when I shot it. My wife and I had just completed a 13 mile difficult walk along the coast path, and this was shot in the last few minutes before we got back to the car and darkness fell. My wife couldn't believe it when I stopped and got my camera out.
"WHAT are you doing?" she said.
"PAD" I replied.
Dedication, you see!
So it was a dark and rainy day today (a sure sign that the seasons are changing). I had hoped thatit would clear off in the evening, so held off taking a picture. I was hoping for a great sunset. It didn't and I remembered at 11:30 pm that I hadn't taken a picture for today. Saw this vase in the kitchen window, so here it is. I don't have any off camera lighting so had to use the camera flash and normal overhead lights.
