Cutlery
I do all the cooking in my household, yet I have no need for expensive cutlery. The inexpensive knives and sharpening steel in this photo are at least 20 years old, though I probably haven't used the steel in at least 15 years. To obtain optimum use of the knives, I should use it nearly daily. Instead, I only take my knives to my butcher about twice a year so his team can sharpen the knives on a grinding wheel.
You probably will not be able to discern the smallest surface of each knife at the cutting edge unless you display the image at its largest size in the Lytebox.
Setup
The tabletop is a piece of vinyl floor covering. A medium continuous-light lamp on the left and behind the scene is lighting a white wall that is also behind the scene. The light reflected by the white wall displays the three surfaces of each knife blade. A small continuous-light lamp in the right front area separates the handles from the tabletop and separates the horizontal surfaces of the handles from their vertical surfaces. A large white reflector above and on the right side of the scene at a 45 degree angle to the tabletop brightens the knife blades near the handles.
