Need help in ID -ing this weed (?)

As you may have guessed, I have been gardening this week, seeing some beautiful spring flowers being posted around here. And I came upon this weed (?) container. I wonder if anyone can ID this for me?

In my area I would guess milkweed--but I don't have a sense of scale from your photo

Sorry it is a bit blurred -- my dog moved the table just going under to go to the car before she gets smacked from evading hubby, but you can guess from here how big this thingie is. I am glad I had not thrown it away yet...thanks.

Hi Izzie, It would be milkweed in Oregon and in the Midwest. They stand above the snow in the winter in the midwest. I've 'frozen' a few fingers photographing them there.

Thanks Susan. I did a bit of gardening again yesterday and found some more. I do not have milkweed in my garden and I do not know how they look like, but I keep finding them around ... I bought some butterfly and hummingbird friendly plants the other day and I was asking the clerk at the store if they have milkweed and she laughed at my question. Oh well...
