I like your shot a lot John. The intensity in both their stares near and far is fun and you have processed it so it looks like the landscape and sheep are almost interchangeable - at least to my eye. Was camouflage in your mind? The high contrast works well with the shifts in textures IMO. :-)

Great capture! I especially like the balance of the 2 sheep. If this was cropped, I might add a tad to the right side of the photo to give him a little more room.

Shaggy wool they have, John...I have not seen such kind of Rams before, just the ones at Wyoming and some other places and they do not look the same as what I had seen before...are they special? You've captured that look that can almost sink a sailing ship there. I can't think of a comparison...

Hi Izzie. These are sheep especially bred to withstand the poor weather in upland areas of the UK. Farmers are known to have to dig them out of snow drifts during the winter before they scamper off no worse for wear. The breed is called Swaledale after the area in Yorkshire that they originated from. Both males and females have horns so I don't know whether either of these is a ram or a sheep.

I liked it very much; some how i felt it like an impressionist painting's monochrome photo
