So, I'm not the only one who finds the bather strange. When I look up this statue on Google, there is very little comment on it. I suspect there might be more comment in this thread than the rest of the internet!

My favorite is the color version of the bathing woman. IMHO this piece of artwork is somewhat unique in that it isn't a "typical" representation of a bathing women, yet it isn't too far from an actual, or common, depiction. Perhaps the artist's intention was to get people talking about his/her work, and he/she certainly achieved that end in this thread. Very nice work, Izzie.

Thanks John (Rostron) for further commenting...I suppose you are right. The only thing is that there are many sculptures of the same in different years made too. I really suspected that because of the year it was made, the sculpture (is/was a he, btw) has been so conservative and never seen a woman in a bathing suit and yet, was able to depict one of this thoughts through his work but really had no model? It is an intriguing story if you have to think of the plot, the marvels and the rest of the story as you go along making things up.

No, thank you John (2) for the suggestion. I tried different angles but either there are other people (and a serious photographer who wants attention...) and I was forced to accept where I was at the time and took a shot. You can tell I wasn't happy but you've given me a good suggestion. Thank you again.
