You could have taken that shot in my garden. It is a wild ginger blossom. I am terrible at names but odds are good Geoff will know. And it is a great shot. These butterflies rarely stay still.
Lovely! shot Barbara. The focus is right where it needs to be and the light is really nice foreground and background. I'm curious what time of day you shot this and whether you used any filters/lights or not..?
In the world of fabric and other man-made items, it's nearly impossible to perfectly match red tones. Yet the red tones on the butterfly and the blossom are the same.
Great composition, depth of field and use of color!
Thank you Susan! It was shot between 10am and noon. I know for a fact I did not use a filter when taking it but I can't recall if a filter was added during processing. It was taken inside the Butterfly Museum which is a huge 3 story glass pyramid and HOT as HELL! The lighting can get tricky in there but got lucky.
In French this flower is called "rose de porcelaine"
Nice picture and good rending
I like it very much Barbara.
Excellent! I hope you were lucky to take a lot from that museum. We call ours here as Butterfly House and it is very muggy. Beautiful. And I love those lucky red colours too.
Very very beautiful......
Richard, love that one's body! Lovely capture!
